Annual Golf Day raises nearly £3000 for West Berkshire Mencap
Last week, West Berkshire Mencap held their annual Golf Day at Sandford Springs Golf Club on 23rd June to raise vital funds for their personalised services for people with learning disabilities and their families and carers. Eleven teams took part in the event to help raise funds for us as a local charity, with the winning team of the day being from CDK Global. The day was a wonderful success, with beautiful sunny weather throughout the day and the teams giving very positive feedback about the event. The day raised a grand total of almost £3000 for West Berkshire Mencap, which will make a massive difference to their much needed services.

Phil King, Events Manager for Wst Berkshire Mencap, said “We would like to thank everybody who kindly supported us with our Annual Golf Day last week by either entering a team, donating a prize, being a supporter of the event or volunteering on the day. We have had really lovely feedback from all the teams who took part about how much they enjoyed the day, which is fantastic to hear. The wonderful total raised will go towards maintaining our vital services which support so many people and their families locally. We would like to say a special thank you to Sue Carey of Sandford Springs Hotel and Golf Club and to John Young and John Roberts of the TOGs club, whose help was invaluable for organising and running our Golf Day. We are now looking forward to 2018’s event!”
Our next fundraising event is our Annual Murder Mystery on the 20th October at the Doubletree Hilton in Newbury. To find out more contact us on 01635 41464 or email info@wbmencap.org
