Gateway Club

Gateway club help people with a learning disability take part in leisure, social and creative activities in the community, and provide opportunities for personal development. Gateway club give people with a learning disability the chance to speak up for themselves and have a say in the running of the organisation Gateway campaigns with people with a learning disability for their right to lead a full and active life in the community. Gateway provides people with support and information.

West Berkshire Mencap offer Newbury Gateway they meet weekly at the Mencap Centre and is a great opportunity for adults with a learning disability to take part in their own social club. It provides an opportunity for adults with a learning disability the chance to socially interact with friends in a warm friendly environment. The entertainment is chosen by the Gateway leaders with the input from the people that attend the club, activities include discos, barbecues, live bands, games nights, bingo, quiz nights, craft nights and much more.
