If you are familiar with us as a charity, you may be aware that for the last five years we have organised a ball for adults with learning disabilities. The event has been extremely popular ever since it was originally set up, and has continue to grow and develop into a really special event that everybody who attends really looks forward to.
This being our fifth year of the event it was decided that it had to be the most memorable and spectacular yet, and a theme of enchantment was picked. Each table was themed around a popular fairy tale, and Alice and the Mad Hatter kindly agreed to attend the evening, as well as our regular entertainment from Jimmy Rocket and Helen who provided a wonderful singing performance for the ball.
The adults who attended enjoyed a lovely three course meal with an enchanted theme, (even had glass slipper shaped croutons in the soup), where they interacted with Alice and the Mad Hatter between courses, followed by an exciting raffle draw with prizes donated by generous businesses and supporters. The attendees then sang and danced the night away with Jimmy Rocket and Helen until it was time to go home.
All attendees also has a wonderful photograph taken courtesy of Stuart March Photography as a memento of the evening.
We would like to thank all the businesses who supported this year’s event, the staff and volunteers who helped organise and run it, the Chequers Hotel for all their help before and during the event, Jimmy Rocket and Helen for their wonderful performance, Matt Worth and Ellie Selby who made a fantastic Alice and Mad Hatter and Stuart March Photography and Dan Worth for their photos and filming of the event.
