Leisure Plus was launched in January 1997 with the aim of providing people with learning disabilities over the age of 19 the opportunity to participate in recreational and leisure activities of their choice both with their peers and through integration within the wider community.
As well as offering in house run activities across a broad spectrum Leisure Plus aims to provide support for individuals who are seeking participation within community based groups for their chosen hobby/interest both by sourcing contacts and finding volunteers willing to assist its clients with their chosen activity.
All activities are offered at very competitive prices to enable maximum participation.
Currently Leisure Plus runs weekly sessions including: “Eli’s” Club, cookery courses, Arts & Crafts, drama, badminton and Trampolining,
Experienced and qualified instructors supervise all our activities.
By offering different venues those with transport difficulties have the opportunity to participate without incurring great expense.
Leisure Plus also offers an outreach facility for residential homes enabling them to book Arts & Crafts, Sports or Cooking sessions for their clients in the home environment delivered by experienced staff.
Volunteer application forms are available form the Mencap Centre or download now. Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated!
